KinderCare releases list of Oregon day care sites that remain open for kids of essential workers
KinderCare will refocus more than 400 centers nationwide to provide childcare for first responders, healthcare workers and families that work in essential services, the Portland-based company announced Friday. It could reopen more depending on demand.
Here is the list posted on KinderCare's website of Oregon day cares that will open Monday for the children of essential workers only.
Oregon
Southwest Washington sites open for essential workers:
KinderCare operates 1,500 daycare centers in 40 states. It said it will temporarily shut more than two-thirds of its centers because of the coronavirus pandemic. The company said:
"We'll be prioritizing enrollment to those families who provide essential services to the community at large. To access care at one of these centers, please call (866) 337-3105."
The company said it defined essential workers as "first responders, critical healthcare providers, essential service workers and others who keep our neighborhoods running like food service, grocery and pharmacy employees."
The list will be kept updated on the KinderCare site.
